Back in 2019 IBM introduced Power Enterprise Pools 2.0 on the Power9 model E980, offering customers the flexibility to tailor system configurations with a mix of purchased and pay-for-use consumption of processors and software. This was expanded in 2020 to scale-out systems which are frequently used by IBM i customers. In 2021 and 2022, systems based on the latest Power10 processor were introduced and new consumption capabilities added.
